girls weekend in Sedona

I recently had an amazing girls’ weekend in Sedona. It happened to be my best friend’s 50th birthday and since I was staying in Sedona for the month of March, we booked a relaxing girls’ weekend. March is a perfect time to visit Sedona because the temperatures are mild and dry.

One of the best things to do first on a girls’ weekend in Sedona is book a guided hike. We booked a sunset-guided hike through the Boynton Canyon Vortex. This vortex is considered the strongest in Sedona because it has both masculine and feminine energies.

It was so helpful to learn about the vortex sites in the area from a local guide on our first night there. Our guide taught us about the vortexes, the local foliage, the geology of the red rocks, and the power of crystals. In addition to all of the info, we had an incredible hike with views of the sunset over the red rocks.

Sedona Spa Day

Since we were celebrating a 50th Birthday, we treated ourselves! We booked our stay at the Enchantment Resort, which is one of the top 10 spa resorts in the world. It was truly first-class! The staff was so accommodating and generous with their time and knowledge of the area. All the rooms at the resort overlook Boynton Canyon so we could wake up and take our coffee on the porch looking at the beauty surrounding the resort.

One of the things we loved most about Enchantment Resort was that we could get on several trails right from the resort. As the sun rose on our first morning at the resort, we hiked to Kachina Vortex Woman. You can see the rock from the resort and is located on a vortex so you can feel the energy. It is less than a mile to Kachina. We sat on the rock and meditated before we started our day. After our hike we had a wonderful brunch at Che Ah Chi. We indulged in handmade energy drinks and a huge brunch so we were fortified for our spa treatments. The staff treated us like royalty. My 3 treatments were relaxing and unique.

If you are looking for a luxurious, relaxing girls’ weekend in Sedona, Enchantment Resort is perfect. After we left the resort, we put on our hiking boots and headed to Long Canyon to experience more of the red rock beauty. If you are heading out for a hike on your girls’ weekend, remember you are in the desert, it gets HOT at 70 degrees! Wear plenty of sunscreen and take lots of water. You do not want to be dehydrated!

After we hiked, we made our way back to my Airbnb, which is within walking distance of Bell Rock! The Bell Rock hike is a must in Sedona since it is also considered a vortex. It is an easy hike with so many lovely views of the red rocks and even Chapel of the Holy Cross. Helpful hit: go early in the morning because the trailhead gets crowded quickly.

Sedona Wineries and Dining

A girls weekend in Sedona would not be complete without some shopping. The Ttlaquepaque arts village is a must see, with many wonderful boutiques and restaurants! We opted to check out a local art show. My friends and I found several wonderful treasures to take home at the art show and we loved supporting local artists!

After our little shopping fun, we headed out to the wineries. There are several winery tours in Sedona. You can hop on a bus and not worry about having to drive but since we only wanted to do a couple of hours, I drove out to Page Springs Winery and DA Ranch.

I learned that Arizona has the same climate as the wine country in France. We really enjoyed tasting local wines and being outdoors in the amazing March weather. Both of these wineries are located within a couple of miles of each other and offer unique views and wines. Check out this blog to learn more about the wineries near Sedona.

Sedona offers an array of wonderful restaurants to experience great food and incredible views! We chose Mole for our final dinner in Sedona. The views of the mountains at sunset were amazing and the food was a wonderful array of unique Mexican dishes. The margarita was a wonderful treat as well!

A girls’ weekend in Sedona is an amazing way to celebrate a big birthday or special occasion. Sedona, AZ is magical place that makes you feel, all at once, peaceful and adventurous.
